The Beach beat La Verne in a blowout during their opener, but it’s been all L’s since then. LBSU has fallen to South Dakota State, San Francisco, Portland, Gonzaga, Fresno State, UNC Greensboro, UTEP, and San Jose State in the last eight outings.
Matched up against San Jose State last Wednesday, the Beach played well in the first half with a 38-36 deficit. Long Beach State faded from there, however, eventually losing 82-66. Kam Martin led the team on 17 points with seven assists in 40 minutes. Long Beach State will face Hawaii, San Diego, Pepperdine, and UC Riverside following this game.
CSU Fullerton Titans Betting Preview
Over on the Titans’ side, they lost their first four versus Grand Canyon, Stanford, Oregon State, and Colorado. Since then it’s been a 2-2 run with wins over Idaho State and Pepperdine mixed with losses to UCLA and Pacific.
In the Pacific game on Saturday, the Titans came out of the break with a 29-23 deficit and didn’t end up getting closer in a 64-55 loss. Tops in scoring was John Mikey Square with 14 points and four rebounds. CSU Fullerton will meet UC Riverside, Denver, Wyoming, CSU Northridge, and UC San Diego after this one.

CSU Fullerton vs Long Beach State Prediction
I’ll stay with CSU Fullerton I suppose. There’s not a lot to get excited about here if you’re not a fan of either team, though. The Titans didn’t look good versus Pacific in their last outing, shooting just 33.3 percent from the field and 13-of-21 (61.9 percent) from the line alongside a 43-29 rebounding deficit. CSUF hasn’t been lighting up the scoreboard this year; they’ve been below 63 points in six of their eight games so far. To be fair though, the Titans have played some relatively tough teams in there.
As for LBSU, they shot fairly well from the field (44.4 percent) in their latest loss to San Jose State but also gave up 54.4 percent on the other side. After a couple of solid scoring performances to start the year, the Beach have been below 70 points in seven straight games—and below 62 points in five of those. This one may be competitive initially but I like CSUF to pull out the cover at home in the end.
