The Pacific Tigers and the CSU Fullerton Titans meet Saturday in college basketball action from Titan Gym. Pacific is 2-2 in their last four games and coming off a loss to UC Davis. Pacific got off to a 2-2 start this year with wins over Hawaii-Hilo and Stan State alongside losses to Northern Colorado and Hawaii. Since then it’s been another 2-2 run with wins over Chicago State and AR-Pine Bluff mixed in with losses to UTEP and UC Davis.
On Wednesday versus UC Davis, the Tigers fell behind 36-21 at halftime. Despite a 36-27 advantage from there, Pacific ended up losing 63-57. The only double-digit scorer on the team was Jeremiah Bailey with 24 points and six boards.
Over on the Titans’ side, they lost to Santa Clara and San Jose State in their first pair before wins over George Washington and San Diego. A 1-2 run followed with a win over Northern AZ and losses to UTRGV and Wyoming.
On Monday in the Wyoming matchup, CSU Fullerton was down 39-26 at halftime but kept pace from there in a 79-66 defeat. EJ Anosike put up 19 points to lead the team, and Jalen Harris added 14 points in 15 minutes of work.
The Titans are 12-26-1 ATS in their last 39 at home and 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games. CSU Fullerton is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall. The under is 3-1-2 in the Tigers’ last six overall.
PICK: I’m probably going to try Pacific here. The Tigers will likely need a good offensive outing to bag the cover, though. Pacific has hit 74 or more points in two of their last three games, but they’ve also been at 65 or below in five of eight games this season.
As for the Titans, they’ve had mixed results on offense as well but haven’t been too bad in their last two games. All in all this seems like a pretty fun matchup, but I like Pacific a little better on a potential cover/win.
