The UC-Irvine Anteaters and the CSU-Northridge Matadors meet in college basketball action from the Matadome on Saturday night.

The UC-Irvine Anteaters will look to build on their three-game winning streak after a 53-52 win over UC-Santa Barbara last time out. Collin Welp leads the Anteaters in scoring and assists with 14.8 PPG while also logging 6.2 RPG as the only double-digit scorer for UC-Irvine so far this season. Dawson Baker has 9.1 PPG as the next leading scorer for the Anteaters on the year. As a team, UC-Irvine is averaging 65.8 PPG on 43.9% shooting from the field, 32.1% from three and 71.3% from the foul line while allowing 58.6 PPG on 37.5% shooting from the field and 25.3% from three this season.

The CSU-Northridge Matadors will look to snap a seven-game losing skid after an 83-77 loss to UC-San Diego last time out. Atin Wright leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 13.2 PPG while Elijah Hardy has 11.5 PPG with 4.6 RPG and 2.8 APG to lead the Matadors in assists and to cap off the pair of double-digit scorers for CSUN this season. Onyi Eyisi has 9.8 PPG with 4.4 RPG and Christian Gray has 5 RPG as well to lead CSU-Northridge on the glass. As a team, CSU-Northridge is averaging 60.9 PPG on 39.4% shooting from the field, 28.5% from three and 70.7% from the foul line while allowing 70.4 PPG on 44.2% shooting from the field and 33.4% from three this season.

UC-Irvine is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games as a favorite. CSU-Northridge is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record.

I’m not rushing to the window to back either side here, as I don’t want to lay double digits with UC-Irvine and CSU-Northridge hasn’t been very good this year. Instead, I’m going to side with the under. Irvine tends to play in a lot of low-scoring games and while Northridge has more potential offensively, a lot of times they let their opponent dictate the style of game and against the Anteaters, it’ll likely be a first to 60 wins kind of game. Give me the under.
