The Gardner-Webb Bulldogs will travel to the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center to take on the Campbell Fighting Camels this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The Gardner-Webb Bulldogs won their 4th straight game and improved to 13-10 on the season after defeating the North Carolina A&T Aggies, 69-62, this past Saturday. Gardner-Webb was solid on the defensive end against North Carolina A&T and was able to pull away from the Aggies after taking a 56-44 lead with 9:12 left in regulation. Gardner-Webb shot 44.6% from the field & 47.6% from beyond the arc while holding North Carolina A&T to just 39.0% shooting from the field & 30.8% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Zion Williams who had 12 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, & 2 steals.

On the season, Gardner-Webb is averaging 70.3 ppg on 44.7% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs are averaging 7.4 three-pointers per game on 32.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Gardner-Webb has been led by D’Maurian Williams (14.0 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.5 apg), Lance Terry (13.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.0 spg), Kareem Reid (10.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.0 apg), & Zion Williams (6.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.3 spg).

Defensively, Gardner-Webb is holding their opponents to an average of 63.9 ppg on 38.9% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs have a rebound margin of 2.7 and a turnover margin of 0.3.

The Campbell Fighting Camels improved to 13-8 on the season after defeating the South Carolina Upstate Spartans, 80-71, this past Saturday. Campbell was outstanding offensively against South Carolina Upstate and had no trouble securing the victory after going into halftime with a 45-35 lead. Campbell shot 63.5% from the field & 47.6% from beyond the arc while allowing South Carolina Upstate to shoot 51.8% from the field & 42.1% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Fighting Camels was Jesus Carralero who had 16 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block, & 2 steals.

On the season, Campbell is averaging 68.3 ppg on 48.6% shooting from the field. The Fighting Camels are averaging 6.5 three-pointers per game on 33.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Campbell has been led by Cedric Henderson Jr. (13.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.8 apg), Jordan Whitefield (12.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.1 spg), Jesus Carralero (10.1 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 3.8 apg, 1.5 spg), & Ricky Clemons (10.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.4 apg).

Defensively, Campbell is holding their opponents to an average of 62.4 ppg on 43.2% shooting from the field. The Fighting Camels have a rebound margin of 1.0 and a turnover margin of 1.8.

The Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Fighting Camels are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 Wednesday games & 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win.

Campbell is an impressive 8-2 at home this season, however, this is a team that can struggle to put up points as the Fighting Camels rank just 253rd in scoring offense & 261st in three-pointers made per game. Gardner-Webb has been playing well as of late, winning 9 of their last 12 games, and between the fact that their defense, which ranks t-44th in scoring defense & 17th in defensive FG%, should have some success in this one and that I think the Bulldogs are just the better overall team, I think the play is to take Gardner-Webb in this pick-em. Good Luck!
