UNC Asheville managed to go 6-4 over their first 10 games with losses to UAB, Chattanooga, North Carolina and Chattanooga again. Since then it’s been a loss to TN-Martin and victories versus East Tennessee State and Milligan.
On December 21 versus Milligan, the Bulldogs didn’t have much trouble. UNC Asheville put up 61 points in the first half on the way to a 114-54 blowout win. Tajion Jones was the high man on 19 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Over on the Campbell side, they managed a pretty solid 6-2 run over their first 10—the only losses came to Duke and VCU. The Camels would beat CIU on December 7, but since they’ve lost to GA Southern and UNC Wilmington.
In the matchup versus the Seahawks, Campbell was outscored 34-27 in the second half on the way to a 65-58 loss. Austin McCullough led the way on 15 points, and Jordan Whitfield added 13 points with two assists.
The Camels are 0-4 ATS in their last four Wednesday games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall. The under is 5-2 in Campbell’s last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight overall. The over is 5-0 in UNC Asheville’s last five overall.
PICK: I’m probably going with Campbell here. The Camels are really going to have to turn things around on the court, though. Campbell has been above 66 points just once in the last four games. Granted, the Camels are more of a defense-oriented, lower-scoring team but they still tend to have more trouble if they don’t hit the mid-60s or so. UNC Asheville has been scoring better lately themselves and I think they’ll be a good challenge for the Camels’ defense. Should be a fun game to watch.
