USC Upstate Spartans
USC Upstate went 8-8 over their first 16 games, losing to Duke, Clemson, Air Force, South Carolina, Florida State, Kennesaw State, Charleston Southern and Campbell in that time. The Spartans are 1-4 in their last five outings with a lone win over Presbyterian.
In the Radford matchup back on Saturday, the Spartans were outscored 27-17 in the first half. USC Upstate hit a 35-28 run in the second half but ultimately lost 55-52. Mysta Goodloe topped the team on 12 points with five rebounds.
Campbell Fighting Camels
Over on the Campbell side, they beat only St. Augustine, App State, Kennesaw State, Stetson, William Peace and Gardner-Webb during their first 16 games. The Camels are 3-3 since then with losses to Winthrop, Radford and UNC Asheville.
Back on Saturday versus UNC Asheville, the Camels were down 37-28 in the locker room. Campbell didn’t get any closer on a 41-37 second-half deficit and lost 78-65. Both Ricky Clemons and Jay Pal put up 15 points to lead the way.

I’ll probably lean toward Campbell here. Also probably not touching this one. The Camels are coming off a loss to a pretty good UNC Asheville team and they’ve been a mixed bag lately. That said, Campbell posted a nice 78-63 win at G.B. Hodge Center on January 11 the last time these teams met up. The Camels overcame a 39-33 halftime deficit in that one as well. As for USC Upstate, they haven’t scored very well lately with 66 or fewer points in six straight games. I like the Spartans to stay close in the first half again here before Campbell eventually pulls away on the cover.
