Canceled: St. Francis-Brooklyn vs Longwood 12/19/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

UPDATE: This game has been canceled. The Longwood Lancers and the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers meet Sunday in college basketball action from Peter Aquilone Court. Longwood is sitting at 7-4 on the year. The Lancers are coming off a win over Piedmont International. As for the Terriers, they’re 3-8 so far and beat Medgar Evers in their last appearance. Longwood posted a 4-1 run out of the gate this year with wins over VA Lynchburg, MACU, American and UMBC. The Lancers lost their next three straight, but then got back to it with victories over Delaware State, Morgan State and Piedmont International. 

In the Piedmont International game, Longwood got off to a nice 47-27 start in the first half, then finished on a 51-29 run for a 98-56 win. The Lancers’ top scorer was Leslie Nkereuwem with 17 points and four rebounds. 

Over on the St. Francis BK side, they started the year with losses to Wisconsin, St. Thomas MN, Penn State, St. John’s, McNeese State, NC A&T, Fordham and Hartford. The Terriers have since won three straight over Saint Peter’s, Delaware State and Medgar Evers. 

Back on Tuesday against Medgar Evers, the Terriers scored 59 points in the first half and 54 more from there in a 113-51 blowout win. Leading scorer Max Egner doubled up on 19 points with 14 rebounds. 

The Terriers are 0-4 ATS in the last four at home and 2-5 ATS in the last seven as a favorite. The under is 7-1 in St. Francis BK’s last eight overall. 

Meanwhile, the Lancers are 4-0 ATS in the last four overall and 10-4 ATS in the last 14 after a straight-up win. The under is 3-1-1 in Longwood’s last five after a straight-up win. 

PICK: I’m probably going to try Longwood in this one. This should be a pretty good matchup regardless, though; both teams have been playing much better lately. In any case, the Lancers seem to have found some stride offensively; they’ve scored 78 or more points in four straight games. Each of Longwood’s last three wins has been by at least 20 points. 

As for St. Francis BK, they’ve got double-digit wins in each of their last three and should provide some healthy competition here. Should be a competitive game, but I like Longwood slightly better on the cover.
