The Quinnipiac Bobcats and the Canisius Golden Griffins meet Sunday in college basketball action from Koessler Athletic Center.

Quinnipiac comes in here at 4-6 overall. The Bobcats broke a four-game losing streak with a win over Niagara in their last game. As for Canisius, they’re 3-3 so far. The Griffins have won consecutive games over Saint Peter’s in their last pair. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Quinnipiac kicked off their season at 2-2 with wins over Fairleigh Dickinson and New Hampshire. After a win over Manhattan, the Bobcats lost their next four games to Manhattan, Monmouth and Niagara before getting a victory over the Eagles in the rematch.

In the 78-69 win over Niagara last weekend, Quinnipiac’s Brendan McGuire doubled up on 19 points with 10 rebounds, and Seth Pinkney added 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Jacob Rigoni put up 11 points with three boards and two assists as well.

Over on the Canisius side, they entered the season with a win over Marist, then fell to the Foxes in the rematch. The next pair of games for the Griffins was versus Monmouth, and they lost both. Quinnipiac kicked off the calendar year well with a pair of wins over Saint Peter’s, however.

In the 63-60 win over Saint Peter’s on January 2, Canisius’ Ahamadou Fofana posted 17 points with four assists and two rebounds to lead the team. Malek Green was also in double-figures there on 11 points and five boards.

Canisius is 8-19 ATS in their last 27 at home versus a team with a losing road record and the under is 4-1 in their last five overall. The under is 4-1 in the Griffins’ last five home games and 5-2 in their last seven versus a team with a losing straight-up record.

Meanwhile, Quinnipiac is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 road games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven Sunday games. The under is 5-1 in the Bobcats’ last six Sunday games and 5-1 in their last six road games.

PICK: I’m sticking with Quinnipiac. These teams were supposed to meet up Saturday before an inconclusive virus test occurred, so hopefully this one will go off without a hitch. In any case, the Bobcats have been fairly inconsistent on offense, but when the matchup is right they can score quite well. Quinnipiac has hit 78 or more points in two of their last four, and if they get off to a hot start here I think the Bobcats have a good shot on a cover. Should be a fun matchup.
