Chattanooga vs UNC Greensboro Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/18/23

The UNC Greensboro Spartans and the Chattanooga Mocs meet Saturday in college basketball action from McKenzie Arena. UNC Greensboro is fresh off a Wednesday matchup versus Samford. In that one the Spartans fell by 12 points. As for Chattanooga, they played VMI in their Wednesday game. The Mocs ended up winning in a blowout. UNC Greensboro Spartans 

UNC Greensboro began the season on a decent 12-8 run through 20 games. The Spartans hit a 6-1 stretch in the next seven outings, beating Mercer, VMI, Mercer again, the Citadel, East Tennessee State and Wofford in that time. 

On Wednesday versus Samford, the Spartans held a 29-26 lead by halftime. UNC Greensboro was outscored 57-42 in the second and lost 83-71, though. Keondre Kennedy led the team on 18 points and five rebounds in the defeat. 

Chattanooga Mocs 

Over on the Chattanooga side, they managed a similar 11-9 run over their first 20 outings this year. The Mocs went just 3-4 over the next seven, losing to East Tennessee State, Wofford, Furman and Western Carolina. 

Matched up against VMI on Wednesday, the Mocs destroyed the Keydets 47-14 in the first half. Chattanooga posted a 44-31 deficit from there in a 78-58 win. KC Hankton was the top scorer with 13 points and eight rebounds.

I’ll probably stick with Chattanooga here. The Mocs are sitting on a three-game win streak with 73 or more points scored in each of those outings. Chattanooga has some revenge motivation in this one as well: the last time these teams met up on January 4, UNC Greensboro posted a 73-61 victory at Greensboro Coliseum. The Spartans have been scoring very well lately with five straight games of 69-plus points. I like Chattanooga to get off to a good start in this rematch and power out a cover/win, though. Should be a fun matchup if the Mocs play well.
