Over on the Clemson side, they kicked off the year on a nice run featuring wins in seven of their first eight—falling only to Georgetown in that time. The Tigers would lose consecutive games to Alabama and BYU, then beat Mercer, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, SMU, Notre Dame, Boston College, Miami and Georgia Tech (with a loss to NC State) from there. That gives Clemson a 17-4 record this year.

I’ll stay with Clemson. The Tigers were able to dispatch a decent Georgia Tech team in a road game during their last outing, shooting 45.9 percent from the field with 10-of-13 (76.9 percent) at the line and a 34-32 rebounding edge. Clemson added a 30-20 advantage on points in the paint and just eight turnovers as well. The Tigers are 10-1 in their last 11 games, with the lone blemish during that time being an overtime defeat by NC State on January 20.

These teams already saw each other once this year, in a 73-68 road win for the Tigers on January 3. In that game Clemson shot very well on 53.3 percent and had a slim edge on both the boards and in the paint. The Tigers’ 14 turnovers were just about the only real area to complain about. I like Clemson to control things in the home rematch and power one out here.
