The Clemson Tigers and the TCU Horned Frogs meet Saturday in college basketball action from Coca-Cola Coliseum. Clemson is undefeated through eight games so far, most recently taking out South Carolina. As for TCU, they haven’t lost yet either. The Frogs are 7-0 following a win over Georgetown last Saturday. Clemson Tigers 

The Tigers have been on a great run to kick off the season. Clemson took out Winthrop, UAB, Davidson, Boise State, Alcorn State, Alabama and Pittsburgh through their first seven games. In the win over the Panthers, the Tigers shot 46.7 percent from the field and had a 40-33 rebounding advantage. 

Clemson kept their win streak going in their latest matchup with South Carolina. The Tigers were down 30-23 in the first half, but stormed back on a 49-37 run from there for a 72-67 victory. Tops in scoring for Clemson was Chauncey Wiggins on 15 points, while Ian Schieffelin doubled up on 12 points and 12 boards. 

TCU Horned Frogs 

Over on the Frogs’ side, they’ve been on quite the run so far this year as well. TCU kicked off the season with wins over Southern, Omaha, UT Rio Grande Valley, Mississippi Valley State, Alcorn State and Houston Christian. Matched up against the Huskies, TCU shot a nice 58.2 percent from the field in a 101-64 blowout. 

In their last outing versus Georgetown, TCU was able to bag another victory. This one was pretty close, though. The Frogs were outscored 47-40 in the second half during an 84-83 result. Emanuel Miller led the team with his 29 points and five rebounds. JaKobe Coles added 17 points and five boards.

ANDREW’S FREE CLEMSON VS TCU PREDICTION 

I’m staying with Clemson. This should be a pretty fun matchup regardless, though. The Tigers started a little slowly in their last win over South Carolina but ended up hitting 44.6 percent from the field and 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from outside. Clemson did well on the boards also with a 42-38 edge. That’s 72 or more points in seven of eight games this year for the Tigers. 

As for TCU, they’re coming off 52.3 percent shooting versus Georgetown. The Frogs gave up 48 percent (12-of-25) from outside in that one, though. It’s been a great scoring run so far for TCU as well; they’ve hit 82 or more points in every game. This one should be a high-scoring finish as well, but I think Clemson can power out the cover/win.
