The Green Bay Phoenix will travel to the Wolstein Center to take on the Cleveland State Vikings this Friday night in College Basketball action.

The Green Bay Phoenix lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 4-16 on the season after being defeated by the Robert Morris Colonials, 62-60, this past Saturday. Green Bay struggled from beyond the arc against Robert Morris and could not fight back after the Colonials took a 59-55 lead with 1:52 left in regulation. Green Bay shot 42.6% from the field & 10.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Robert Morris to shoot 36.1% from the field & 35.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Phoenix was Cade Meyer who had 16 points & 8 rebounds.

On the season, Green Bay is averaging 61.6 ppg on 41.6% shooting from the field. The Phoenix are averaging 5.1 three-pointers per game on 26.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Green Bay has been led by Donovan Ivory (11.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.0 bpg), Emmanuel Ansong (11.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg), Kamari McGee (10.6 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.8 apg), & Lucas Stieber (5.4 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 3.8 apg). Green Bay will be without Donovan Ivory as the Phoenix announced last week that he is no longer part of their program.

Defensviely, Green Bay is allowing their opponents to average 67.7 ppg on 44.7% shooting from the field. The Phoenix have a rebound margin of -1.2 and a turnover margin of -1.7.

The Cleveland State Vikings had their 4-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 14-5 on the season after being defeated by the Northern Kentucky Norse, 78-72, this past Sunday. Cleveland State led by a 53-39 margin with just 13:19 left in regulation, however, the Vikings struggled down the stretch and could not fight back after Northern Kentucky took a 68-62 lead with just 3:21 left in regulation. Cleveland State shot 50.9% from the field & 31.6% from beyond the arc while allowing Northern Kentucky to shoot 42.6% from the field & 35.5% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Vikings was D’Moi Hodge who had 18 points, 1 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, & 1 steal.

On the season, Cleveland State is averaging 74.3 ppg on 47.0% shooting from the field. The Vikings are averaging 6.3 three-pointers per game on 31.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Cleveland State has been led by D’Moi Hodge (15.6 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.3 apg, 2.2 spg), Torrey Patton (13.7 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 3.9 apg, 1.6 spg), Tre Gomillion (10.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.7 apg), & Deante Johnson (7.9 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.3 bpg).

Defensively, Cleveland State is allowing their opponents to average 69.3 ppg on 42.1% shooting from the field. The Vikings have a rebound margin of 1.5 and a turnover margin of 3.1.

The Phoenix are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games, however, are just 2-4 ATS in their last 6 game vs. Cleveland State. The Vikings are 1-5 ATS in their 6 games & 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games.

Cleveland State has not been great ATS as of late, however, I think this a great spot for the Vikings despite being double-digit favorites. Green Bay is 0-8 on the road this season and no longer has their leading scorer on a team that already has struggled to score the basketball as they rank just 338th in scoring offense & 291st in FG%. Cleveland State is a solid offensive team that has been good at home this season and as I think they have no trouble dominating Green Bay on all aspects of the game in this one, I’m taking Cleveland State to cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
