The Milwaukee Panthers will travel to the Wolstein Center to take on the Cleveland State Vikings this Sunday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Milwaukee Panthers lost their 4th straight game and dropped to 7-16 on the season after being defeated by the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons, 70-60, this past Friday. Milwaukee led by a 28-24 margin at halftime, however, the Panthers had no answers for the Purdue Fort Wayne offense in the 2nd half and could not fight back after the Mastodons took a 62-55 lead with 3:17 left in regulation. Milwaukee shot 41.4% from the field & 30.4% from beyond the arc while allowing Purdue Fort Wayne to shoot 41.8% from the field & 32.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Panthers was DeAndre Gholston who had 22 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, & 1 block.

On the season, Milwaukee is averaging 66.3 ppg on 42.9% shooting from the field. The Panthers are averaging 6.5 three-pointers per game on 32.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Milwaukee has been led by DeAndre Gholston (15.4 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.8 apg), Patrick Baldwin Jr. (13.3 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.7 apg), Josh Thomas (9.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.1 apg), & Jordan Lathon (7.8 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 3.4 apg).

Defensively, Milwaukee is allowing their opponents to average 71.3 ppg on 40.0% shooting from the field. The Panthers have a rebound margin of -1.2 and a turnover margin of -3.1.

The Cleveland State Vikings improved to 15-5 on the season after defeating the Green Bay Phoenix, 85-69, this past Friday. Cleveland State was lights out on the offensive end against Green Bay and pulled away in the 2nd half after taking a 65-47 lead with 10:17 left in regulation. Cleveland State shot 63.5% from the field & 56.3% from beyond the arc while allowing Green Bay to shoot 42.4% from the field & 23.5% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Vikings was Torrey Patton who had 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, & 1 steal.

On the season, Cleveland State is averaging 74.8 ppg on 47.7% shooting from the field. The Vikings are averaging 6.4 three-pointers per game on 32.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Cleveland State has been led by D’Moi Hodge (15.4 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.4 apg, 2.3 spg), Torrey Patton (13.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 3.9 apg, 1.6 spg), Tre Gomillion (9.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.0 spg), & Deante Johnson (8.0 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.3 bpg).

Defensively, Cleveland State is allowing their opponents to average 69.3 ppg on 42.1% shooting from the field. The Vikings have a rebound margin of 1.4 and a turnover margin of 3.0.

The Panthers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games & 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Vikings are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games and 8-10 ATS over their last 18 games.

Cleveland State is a solid team that is 12-2 at home this season and led by an offense that ranks 95th in scoring offense, however, this is a team that outside of their recent victory against Green Bay, hasn’t blown out teams as their average margin of victory in Horizon League play this season is just 6.0 ppg. Milwaukee has struggled this season, however, they did just get Patrick Baldwin Jr. back in the lineup from a calf injury and as I think the duo of Baldwin Jr. & DeAndre Gholston will be able to keep this game competitive, I’m taking Milwaukee and the points. Good Luck!
