The Georgia State Panthers improved to 9-10 on the season after defeating the South Alabama Jaguars, 69-62, this past Saturday. Georgia State was outstanding on both ends of the court in the 1st half against South Alabama and was able to hang on for the victory after taking a 42-24 lead into halftime. Georgia State shot 36.4% from the field & 23.8% from beyond the arc while allowing South Alabama to shoot 40.4% from the field & 20.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Panthers was Kane Williams who had 17 points, 4 rebounds, & 6 assists.

Defensively, Georgia State is allowing their opponents to average 67.1 ppg on 42.8% shooting from the field. The Panthers have a rebound margin of -0.1 and a turnover margin of 5.6.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 12-10 on the season after defeating the Texas State Bobcats, 69-64, this past Saturday. Coastal Carolina went into halftime tied at 29-all, however, the Chanticleers came out flat in the 2nd half and could not fight back after Texas State took a 53-43 lead with 9:16 left in regulation. Coastal Carolina shot 43.1% from the field & 33.3% from beyond the arc while allowing Texas State to shoot 44.6% from the field & 38.1% from beyond the arc. The Panthers are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games & 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games & 4-1 ATS in their last Thursday home games.

George State comes into this game with a losing record, however, the Panthers have been playing well as of late, winning three of their last four games, and I’ve really liked what I’ve seen from the Panthers defensively lately as they have held their last 6 opponents to an average of just 64.7 ppg. Coastal Carolina has been solid on both ends of the court this season and post a 9-4 record at home, however, the Chanticleers have struggled a bit in conference play this season, losing 4 of their last 7 games, and as Georgia State is fully healthy and playing some of their best basketball of the season as of late, I think the play here is to take the Panthers and the point. Good Luck!
