The Army Black Knights and the Colgate Raiders meet in college basketball action from Cotterell Court on Monday evening.

The Army Black Knights will be trying to build on their 77-55 win over Lehigh last time out. Jalen Rucker leads the Black Knights in scoring with 16.1 PPG along with 4.5 RPG and 2.9 APG while Josh Caldwell has 12.7 PPG with 5 RPG and 2.7 APG as well on the year. Charlie Peterson also has 8.4 PPG with a team-high 6.4 RPG to lead the Black Knights on the glass and Aaron Duhart has a team-high 3.5 APG to lead the Black Knights in assists this season. As a team, Army is averaging 73.3 PPG on 44.2% shooting from the field, 32.9% from three and 61.1% from the foul line while allowing 69.8 PPG on 42.4% shooting from the field and 34% from three this season.

The Colgate Raiders will look to snap a five-game losing streak after an 85-81 loss to Lehigh last time out. Nelly Cummings leads the Raiders in scoring with 17.5 PPG while Tucker Richardson has 11.3 PPG, 5.4 RPG and a team-high 4 APG and Jack Ferguson has 12.6 PPG to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Colgate so far this season. Keegan Records also has 8.2 PPG and a team-high 6 RPG as well this season. As a team, Colgate is averaging 75.1 PPG on 44.9% shooting from the field, 39.3% from three and 71.9% from the foul line while allowing 73.9 PPG on 45% shooting from the field and 34% from three this season.

Army is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Monday games and 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a win while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Colgate is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall.

I get the case to be made for Colgate at home here, but the Raiders have not been covering numbers as a favorite let alone winning games. Not the critic will say that those games were all on the road, but that’s still having to lay points with a team that’s lost five games in a row. Army’s won three straight coming into this one and while Colgate’s had the number of Army head to head, I think the Black Knights are playing well enough to grind out a cover here.
