The Stony Brook Seawolves and the College of Charleston Cougars meet Saturday in college basketball action from TD Arena. Stony Brook is fresh off a Thursday game versus UNC Wilmington. In that one the Seahawks lost by seven points. As for Charleston, they played Towson in their Thursday matchup. The Cougars would go on to take an eight-point victory. Stony Brook Seawolves
Stony Brook’s year began on a rough run, going 8-14 through 22 games. The Seawolves only managed to win two of their next seven, falling to Elon, HOfstra, Monmouth, Delaware and Hofstra again with wins otherwise versus NC A&T and William & Mary.
Matched up against UNC Wilmington on Thursday, the Seawolves went into the second half trailing 41-36. Stony Brook didn’t get any closer on a 35-33 second half and lost 76-69. Keenan Fitzmorris led the way on 25 points and seven rebounds.
College of Charleston Cougars
Over on the Charleston side, they managed a nice 21-1 stretch through their first 22 outings this year. The Cougars would then lose to Hofstra and Drexel before wins over Delaware, UNCW, Hampton, Northeastern and Elon in the next seven.
In the Towson game on Thursday, the Cougars were down 38-34 going into the second half. Charleston rallied on a 49-37 run from there and took the comeback win 83-75. Reyne Smith managed 13 points and five other players scored 12 points each.

I’ll stick with Charleston in this one. The line is probably too thick to mess with, though. The Cougars had a slow start on Thursday versus a pretty good Towson team but to their credit Charleston was able to pull off the win. It’s now been a six-game win streak for the Cougars, who have scored 83 or more points in each of those outings. As for Stony Brook, they’ve been below 70 points in seven of their last eight games. I don’t think the Seawolves will be able to stay anywhere close if Charleston gets going.
