Colorado State vs Mississippi Valley State 11/26/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils and the Colorado State Rams meet Saturday in college basketball action from Moby Arena. Mississippi Valley State enters this one at 1-6 so far. The Devils lost to Air Force in their last game. As for Colorado State, they’re 4-2 overall and coming off a loss to Penn State. MS Valley State hit a four-game skid coming out of the gate this year. The Devils fell to Baylor, Hawaii, Yale and Eastern Washington before a win over North Alabama. MS Valley followed that up with another loss, this time to Missouri. 

On Wednesday versus Air Force, the Delta Devils took another loss. Mississippi Valley State scored just 19 points in the first half and limped to a 64-51 defeat. Leading scorer Alvin Stredic posted a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. 

Over on the Colorado State side, they won their first four games of the year. Those victories came versus Gardner-Webb, Southeastern LA, Weber State and South Carolina. The Rams took their first loss last Friday versus Charleston. 

Colorado State took another loss on Sunday versus Penn State. The Rams faced a 33-21 deficit at halftime and ended up losing 68-56. Isaiah Rivera led the team on 15 points and John Tonje added 14 points with 13 rebounds. 

PICK: I’m probably staying with Colorado State. The Rams didn’t play especially well versus a good Penn State team in their last outing. They’ve got some positives to build on, though. Colorado State shot just 32.8 percent from the field, but they had the edge in rebounds 42-35 (11-3 offensive) and assists 13-7. Considering Mississippi Valley State has scored 54 points or fewer in five of seven games so far, it shouldn’t take much for the Rams to stay on pace here.
