The Dartmouth Big Green will travel to Francis S. Levien Gymnasium to take on the Columbia Lions this Saturday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Dartmouth Big Green lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 4-12 on the season after being defeated by the Princeton Tigers, 84-80, this past Saturday. Dartmouth struggled defensively against Princeton and could not fight back after the Tigers took a 75-69 lead with 6:47 left in regulation. Dartmouth shot 49.2% from the field & 45.5% from beyond the arc while allowing Princeton to shoot 49.3% from the field & 47.8% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Big Green was Brendan Barry who had 21 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, &1 steal.

On the season, Dartmouth is averaging 68.3 ppg on 42.1% shooting from the field. The Big Green are averaging 9.4 three-pointers per game on 35.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Dartmouth has been led by Brandan Berry (14.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.6 spg), Aaryn Rai (11.8 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.1 apg), Taurus Samuels (9.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.1 apg), & Garrison Wade (7.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg).

Defensviely, Dartmouth is allowing their opponents to average 70.2 ppg on 45.2% shooting from the field. The Big Green have a rebound margin of -3.1 and a turnover margin of 0.2.

The Columbia Lions lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 4-13 on the season after being defeated by the Yale Bulldogs, 83-72, this past Tuesday night. Columbia had no answers for Yale in the 1st half on either end of the court and could not fight all the way back after going into halftime trailing by a 46-28 margin. Columbia shot 43.3% from the field & 38.9% from beyond the arc while allowing Yale to shoot 48.4% from the field & 47.1% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Lions was Ike Newke who had 21 points, 9 rebounds, & 1 block.

Offensively, Columbia has been led by Ike Nweke (18.0 ppg, 7.1 rpg), Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa (12.4 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.0 spg), Liam Murphy (11.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.5 apg), & Patrick Harding (4.9 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.7 apg).

Defensively, Columbia is allowing their opponents to average 78.5 ppg on 45.9% shooting from the field. The Lions have a rebound margin of 0.5 and a turnover margin of -3.8.

The Big Green are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. Columbia, however, are just 2-4 ATS in their last Saturday road games. The Lions are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games & 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games.

Dartmouth has shot the ball well from beyond the arc this season (32nd in three-pointers per game & 97th in 3P-FG%), the Big Green have struggled overall in both ends of the court as they come into this game ranked just 258th in scoring offense, 211th in scoring defense, & 288th in defensive FG%. Columbia has been led by their offense which ranks 161st in FG% & 28th in 3P-FG%, however, the defense has really struggled and come into this matchup ranked just 335th in scoring defense & 317th in defensive FG%.

Dartmouth is a better team that their record indicates, however, Columbia has played much better since getting Ike Nweke back in the lineup which includes a win at Penn just a couple of weeks ago. Dartmouth is just 2-8 on the road this season and as I think the Lions offense will have plenty of success against Darmouth, I think Columbia does enough with the points to get us a cover. Good Luck!
