Iowa Improves To 2-0
The Iowa Hawkeyes improved to 2-0 on the year with a 98-67 win over Alabama State last time out. Payton Sandfort leads Iowa in scoring and rebounding, averaging a double-double per game with 19 PPG and 10.5 RPG along with 3 APG while Patrick McCaffery has 16.5 PPG with 4 RPG. Ben Krikke has 15.5 PPG with 6 RPG while Tony Perkins and Owen Freeman each have 11 PPG with Perkins logging 5.5 RPG and 2.5 APG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Iowa so far this season. Dasonte Bowen has 7 PPG with 5 APG and Brock Harding has a team-high 7 APG as well on the year. As a team, Iowa is averaging 104 PPG on 49.7% shooting from the field, 39.6% from three and 74.5% from the foul line this season.
Creighton Also Unbeaten
The Creighton Bluejays also improved their record to 2-0 on the year after an 89-60 win over North Dakota State in their last matchup. Trey Alexander leads the Bluejays in scoring and assists with 20.5 PPG with 4.5 APG along with 3 SPG while Baylor Scheierman’s averaging 16 PPG and 5.5 RPG with 4 APG. Steven Ashworth has 12 PPG with 3.5 RPG and 4 APG and Ryan Kalkbrenner’s put up 11 PPG with 3.5 RPG to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Creighton so far this season. Isaac Traudt has 9.5 PPG with 5 RPG and Mason Miller has 8 PPG with 5 RPG while Fredrick King has 7 PPG and a team-high 7.5 RPG as well this season to lead the Bluejays on the glass. As a team, Creighton is averaging 97 PPG on 58.7% shooting from the field, 45.5% from three and 68.8% from the foul line this season.

I’m on the over here. I just think this game features two electric offenses and one average defense and I could easily see both teams hitting the 80s in this one. I lean Creighton if forced to pick a side here, but I think just given the firepower on both sides, the over is the stronger play here.
