The Kennesaw State Owls and the Creighton Bluejays meet in college basketball action from Chi Health Center Omaha on Thursday night.

The Kennesaw State Owls will look to buld on a hard-fought effort in an 84-73 loss to Iowa State in their last game. Terrell Burden led the Owls with 21 points on 4 of 8 shooting with a 13 of 19 mark from the foul line while Chris Youngblood had 16 points with a 9 of 10 mark from the foul line and a team-high 8 rebounds. Spencer Rodgers and Jamir Moultrie each had 12 points with Rodgers shooting 5 of 11 from the field with a pair of threes while Moultrie had three triples and a pair of steals to cap off the scoring in double figures for Kennesaw State in the loss. The Owls shot 43.5% from the field, 35% from three and 72.2% from the foul line in the loss.

The Creighton Bluejays will look to remain unbeaten after starting the year with a 90-77 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff in their last game. Alex O’Connell led the Bluejays with 20 points on 8 of 15 shooting with 3 threes, 7 rebounds and 3 steals while Ryan Hawkins had 16 points on 7 of 15 shooting with a team-high 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Arthur Kaluma and Ryan Nembhard each had 15 points with Kaluma shooting 5 of 9 with 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 blocks while Nembhard shot 7 of 10 with a team-high 10 assists his own double-double. Keyshawn Feazell added 11 points on 5 of 6 shooting to cap off the scoring in double figures for the Bluejays in the win. Creighton shot 58.5% from the field, 28% from three and 58.3% from the foul line in the win.

Creighton got the win in their last matchup, but look at the flow chart of that game. The Bluejays were 33.5 point favorites, and never led by more than 17 points. And that was against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Kennesaw State? Not much better in the competition department, but they gave a power-6 team in Iowa State a run and found a way to cover that game. Not in love with this one, but I’m also not in love with how Creighton looked in game one. Is it an overreaction? Maybe? But only one way to find out. Give me Kennesaw State and the points.
