Creighton vs North Dakota 11/10/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The North Dakota Fighting Hawks and the Creighton Bluejays meet Thursday in college basketball action from CenturyLink Center Omaha. North Dakota is fresh off an eight-point win over Incarnate Word in their season opener. As for Creighton, they beat St. Thomas MN by 12 in their first game of the year. North Dakota had a rough season in 2021-22. The Fighting Hawks went just 6-25 overall and 2-16 in Summit League play. North Dakota finished in last place with that effort and would end the season with a five-game losing streak. 

In their first game of the year, North Dakota went into halftime with a 28-28 tie versus Incarnate Word. The Hawks scored 37 points from there in a 65-57 win. Matt Norman was the top scorer with 14 points and five rebounds. 

Over on the Creighton side, they managed to go 23-12 overall with a 12-7 mark in the Big East last season. The Bluejays finished in fourth place behind Providence, Villanova and UConn. Creighton got to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament, where they lost to Kansas. 

Creighton got off to a nice start this year with a win over St. Thomas MN. The Bluejays were up 40-35 at the break and cruised to the 72-60 result. Arthur Kaluma put up 17 points and eight rebounds, and Baylor Scheierman doubled on 11 points and 10 boards. 

PICK: I’m leaning Creighton but probably not going near it. The Bluejays got a win in their opener versus an overmatched St. Thomas MN squad, but the stats weren’t all that impressive. Creighton shot just 39.4 percent from the field and 23.5 percent from 3-point range, barely edging the Tommies in assists (11-10) and rebounds (39-35). As for North Dakota, they had something of an uninspiring win themselves this week. With the uptick in competition skill, I don’t think the Hawks will keep up here.
