The Seton Hall Pirates and the Creighton Bluejays meet Saturday in college basketball action from CenturyLink Center Omaha. Seton Hall is 19-9 on the season and beat Georgetown in their last outing. Seton Hall had a sketchy 3-6 run in December/January but they’ve only lost consecutive games once this year otherwise. The Pirates are on a four-game win streak right now; they’ve beaten DePaul, Butler, Xavier and Georgetown in that time.
On Wednesday versus Georgetown, the Pirates scored 42 points in the first half and 31 more after the break during an eventual 73-68 victory. Tops in scoring on the team was Jared Rhoden with 16 points and six rebounds.
Over on the Creighton side, they had a similar spotty run at 3-5 back in January but overall they have been a highly consistent team this year. The Bluejays last lost to Providence back on February 26 but bounced back with a win over UConn in the next outing.
On Wednesday versus UConn, the Bluejays jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first half. The Bluejays were outscored 30-38 from there but hung on for the 64-62 win. Ryan Kalkbrenner topped the team with 22 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Creighton is 6-2 ATS in their last eight at home and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. The Bluejays are 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Pirates are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 after a straight-up win. The under is 4-1 in Seton Hall’s last five overall.
PICK: I’m probably going to stay with Creighton here. This one’s a little tricky, though. Seton Hall has been in a good groove over this four-game win streak, and they pulled off a 74-55 blowout home win the last time these teams met up back on February 4.
This road rematch won’t be as easy on Seton Hall though, and I think the Bluejays will be ready after a nice win over UConn in their last game. I like this one to be a tight and competitive matchup as Creighton powers out a late cover/win.
