The Saint John’s Red Storm and the Creighton Bluejays meet Saturday in college basketball action from CenturyLink Center Omaha. Here’s a Creighton vs Saint John’s prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Creighton vs St. John’s pick.
Saint John’s Red Storm Betting Preview
The Red Storm kicked off the season on a shaky 4-3 run. The losses during that time were versus Alabama, Iowa State and Auburn. St. John’s would hit a 5-1 stretch after that, falling to Kentucky alongside wins over Ole Miss, Iona, DePaul, Harvard and Georgetown. Since then it’s been a loss to Providence and a win over Butler, giving the Red Storm a 10-5 overall record in their first 15 games of the season.
In the Butler game on Tuesday the Red Storm went into the break with a 42-42 tie. St. John’s replicated that total in the second half, eventually powering out a nice road win 84-70 in the end. Tops in scoring during the victory was Zuby Ejiofor with 18 points and five rebounds while Bryce Hopkins had 17 points with four rebounds and two assists. Oziyah Sellers added 18 points and five rebounds in the win as well.
Creighton Bluejays Betting Preview
Over on the Creighton side, they managed a .500 run over their first 10 games this year, going 5-5 to start things out. The Bluejays recorded losses to Gonzaga, Baylor, Iowa State, Nebraska and Kansas State during that time. The next four games were all wins, as Creighton toppled Xavier, Marquette, Utah Tech and Butler. Following another loss to Seton Hall, the Bluejays had a 9-6 run across their first 15 outings of the year.
Matched up against Villanova on Wednesday the Bluejays faced a four-point deficit going into the second half. Creighton was able to rally from there on a 46-38 run though, and took the eventual victory 76-72 in the end. Austin Swartz led the team with 20 points, four rebounds and three assists. Blake Harper added 17 points and three boards, while Josh Dix had 17 points and four rebounds.

Creighton vs St. John’s Prediction
I’ll stick with Creighton. The Bluejays put together a nice comeback win over Villanova in a road matchup this week, shooting 50 percent from the field with a 34-28 rebounding edge and just eight turnovers along the way. Creighton had a bit of a slow start and got outscored in the paint 38-30, but the halftime adjustments proved to work out well. The Jays have now won five of their last six games, scoring 76 or more points in each win—with 84 or more points in four of the five.
As for St. John’s, they were able to bag a nice road win at Hinkle Fieldhouse against a pretty good Butler team this week. The Storm shot 50 percent from the field in that one with 16 team assists, a 44-24 advantage on points in the paint and just five turnovers along the way. St. John’s has been scoring well during this current 3-1 run, with 71 or more points in each game. We’ll have a high total here if the Storm can keep that trend going. Should be a fun matchup regardless.
