The Texas A&M Aggies and the Creighton Bluejays meet Wednesday in college basketball action from MGM Arena. Here’s a Creighton vs Texas A&M prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Creighton vs Texas A&M pick.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

The Aggies took something of a stunning loss to UCF 64-61 in their opener this year but quickly got back to business. Texas A&M won their next four over East Texas A&, Lamar, Ohio State, and Southern U, each by double-digits.

On Tuesday versus Oregon, the Aggies held a three-point edge at the break. Texas A&M was outscored from there 51-38 however, and lost a tough one 80-70. Zhuric Phelps led the team with 20 points and five rebounds in the losing effort.

Creighton Bluejays Betting Preview

Over on the Creighton side, they didn’t have too much trouble over their first four games. The Jays took out UTRGV, Fairleigh Dickinson, Houston Christian, and Kansas City in that quartet. Game five was a rough 74-63 loss to Nebraska, however.

Matched up against San Diego State on Tuesday, the Bluejays posted another ugly game. After a 32-28 deficit in the first half, Creighton was outscored 39-25 from there in a 71-53 defeat. Richard Isaacs notched 18 points in the losing effort, and Jackson McAndrew doubled on 12 points and 14 boards.

Why the Creighton Bluejays will win

  • Texas A&M has lost each of its last four day games played at neutral venues.
  • Creighton has won four of its last five games against the Southeastern Conference.
  • Texas A&M has lost the first half in five of its last six games against AP-ranked opponents at a neutral venue.

Why the Texas A&M Aggies will win

  • Texas A&M has won four of its last five games against non-conference opponents.

Creighton vs Texas A&M Prediction

I’ll probably lean toward Texas A&M. The Aggies will need a good bounce-back effort here, though. In their Tuesday loss to Oregon, Texas A&M rebounded quite well with a 44-38 advantage (21-11 offensive) and shot reasonably (11-of-35 for 31.4 percent) from 3-point range. The trouble is, the Aggies hit a dismal 32.4 percent from the field and had 13 turnovers while gradually fading toward a second-half collapse. The 70 points were Texas A&M’s second-lowest total of the season, eclipsed only by their opener breakdown versus UCF (61).

As for Creighton, they’re coming off another miserable shooting performance against San Diego State on Tuesday. The Jays hit just 33.9 percent from the floor, 19.4 percent (6-of-31) from outside, and 38.5 percent (5-of-13) from the line. That makes consecutive train-wreck performances against unranked teams in their last two outings, which will cause a lot of people to write Creighton off completely. Including this matchup, the Jays do have three ranked teams on the schedule in their next four games, so now is definitely the time to hit a convincing run. That said, for now, I’m likely to lean slightly toward the Aggies cover-wise—though neither team garners much optimism these days.
