UConn Huskies
The Huskies lost just two of their fist 12 gams to Kansas and Seton Hall. It’s been all victories since then. UConn has beaten St. John’s, DePaul, Butler, Xavier, Georgetown, Creighton, Villanova, Xavier again, Providence, St. John’s again, Butler again, Georgetown again, DePaul again and Marquette in the last 14 outings.
On Saturday versus Marquette, UConn posted a dominant effort. The Huskies were up 42-26 by halftime, cruising to an 81-53 blowout victory with a 39-27 run in the second half. UConn’s leading scorer was Donovan Clingan with 17 points and 10 boards for a double-double.

Creighton Bluejays
Over on the Creighton side, they lost to only Colorado State, UNLV, Villanova, Marquette and UConn in their first 21 games of the season. The Bluejays are 3-2 since then with losses to Butler and Providence prior to wins over Xavier, Georgetown and Butler in the next trio.
Matched up against Butler on Saturday, the Bluejays faced a 35-34 deficit in the locker room. Creighton turned it on in the second half, posting a 45-22 run for a 79-57 victory. Baylor Scheierman was tops in scoring with 27 points, 10 rebounds and three assists in the win.
ANDREW’S FREE UCONN VS CREIGHTON PREDICTION
I’ll stick with UConn. The Huskies put on a show against a great Marquette team in their last outing, shooting 46 percent from the field with a 45-27 rebounding edge and 24 assists. There have been plenty of dominant efforts during this win streak, and UConn has now scored 71 or more points in seven straight.
These teams last saw each other back on January 17 in a 62-48 home win for the Huskies. Neither team shot particularly well in that one (both under 35.8 percent) but UConn was spurred by a 48-32 rebounding edge and just seven turnovers (and 15 points off 14 Creighton turnovers). This rematch should be a great matchup. Creighton will give the Huskies some trouble if the Bluejays are playing well. In the end I like UConn to power out the road cover, though.
