Boston U went 4-3 over their first seven games, taking losses to Rhode Island, Northeastern and Florida State in that stretch. Since then it’s been a four-game win streak over Merrimack, George Washington, Binghamton and UMass-Lowell for the Terriers.
In the UMass-Lowell matchup, the Terriers scored 34 points in the first half and 38 more from there in a solid 72-62 victory. Boston U’s top scorer was Jonas Harper with 17 points, five rebounds, one steal and one assist.
Over on the Dartmouth side, their year started off well with a 3-1 run. The Green took out Georgetown, NVU-London and Bryant in that time. Dartmouth has since lost three straight to Vermont, Florida Gulf Coast and Quinnipiac.
Matched up against Quinnipiac, the Green were outscored 34-33 in the first half and 38-36 from there in a 72-69 defeat. Leading scorer Aaryn Rai came up with 24 points, six rebounds, two assists and a block in the loss.
The Green are 0-4 ATS in the last four at home and 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall. Dartmouth is 2-5 ATS in the last seven after a straight-up loss.
Meanwhile, the Terriers are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four road games and 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up win. Boston U is 10-3-1 ATS in the last 14 overall.
PICK: I’m going to try Boston here. The Terriers put up a solid game against UMass Lowell in their last outing, with 41.4 percent from the field, 8-of-20 (40 percent) from 3-point range and 47 rebounds. Boston hasn’t been lighting it up during this win streak, but they’ve hit 68 or more in each of their last two.
As for the Green, they shot pretty well and had a good rebounding effort going in an evenly-matched game versus Quinnipiac. Dartmouth has given up 72 or more points in each of their last three games however, so if the Terriers can get the offense going there should be plenty of opportunities.
