The Columbia Lions will travel to Edward Leede Arena to take on the Dartmouth Big Green this Saturday night in College Basketball action.

The Columbia Lions lost their 9th straight game and dropped to 4-19 on the season after being defeated by the Harvard Crimson, 62-54, this past Friday. Columbia struggled with turnovers against Harvard and could not fight back after going into halftime trailing by a 35-26 margin. Columbia shot 36.0% from the field & 50.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Harvard to shoot 36.7% from the field & 28.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Lions was Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa who had 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, & 3 steals.

On the season, Columbia is averaging 68.0 ppg on 43.3% shooting from the field. The Lions are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game on 37.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Columbia has been led by Ike Nweke (15.9 ppg, 6.3 rpg), Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa (12.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.1 spg), Liam Murphy (12.0 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.4 apg), & Cameron Shockley-Okeke (6.9 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.0 apg). Columbia has been without Ike Newke since last Saturday’s game vs. Princeton and as he didn’t play last night against Harvard, he should be considered, at best, questionable for this matchup.

Defensively, Columbia is allowing their opponents to an average of 78.7 ppg on 46.7% shooting from the field. The Lions have a rebound margin of -0.2 and a turnover margin of -3.7.

The Dartmouth Big Green snapped their 3-game losing streak and improved to 6-15 on the season after defeating the Cornell Big Red, 71-59, this past Friday. Dartmouth was outstanding offensively in the 2nd half against Cornell and was able to pull away late after taking a 64-56 lead with 1:07 left in regulation. Dartmouth shot 46.9% from the field & 23.5% from beyond the arc while allowing Cornell to shoot 39.5% from the field & 33.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Big Green was Dame Adelekun who had 19 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block, & 1 steal.

On the season, Dartmouth is averaging 67.1 ppg on 41.3% shooting from the field. The Big Green are averaging 8.7 three-pointers per game on 33.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Dartmouth has been led by Brandan Berry (14.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.5 spg), Aaryn Rai (11.4 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.0 spg), Taurus Samuels (8.8 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.8 apg), & Dame Adelekun (7.1 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg).

Defensively, Dartmouth is allowing their opponents to average 69.8 ppg on 45.3% shooting from the field. The Big Green have a rebound margin of -3.3 and a turnover margin of 1.0.

The Lions are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games, however, are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Saturday games. The Big Green are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 home games & 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

Columbia has been solid ATS on the road as of late, however, this is still a team that ranks just t-258th in scoring offense, 340th in scoring defense, & 333rd in defensive FG%. Dartmouth has only picked up 6 wins this season, however, this is still a team that has picked up some solid wins this season against Georgetown & Cornell. Dartmouth has been solid from beyond the arc this season and as the Big Green had no trouble picking up a 13-point victory at Columbia earlier this season, I think Dartmouth wins this one by around 15 and covers this large home spread.
