The Cornell Big Red and the Dartmouth Big Green meet Sunday in college basketball action from Leede Arena. Cornell enters this one at 10-3 overall. The Big Red beat Binghamton in their last outing. As for Dartmouth, they’re currently 4-10 after a loss to UMass. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Cornell went 7-1 over their first eight games this year, taking a lone loss to Boston College in the opener. The Big Red are 3-2 since then with wins over Lehigh, Colgate and Binghamton alongside losses to Miami and Syracuse.

In the Binghamton game last Thursday, the Big Red took a 44-36 edge into halftime. Cornell posted a 42-34 advantage in the second half on the way to an 86-70 win. Nazir Williams posted 23 points to lead the team.

Over on the Dartmouth side, they went 2-4 over their first six with wins over Mass College of Libertal Arts and UTSA. Dartmouth is 2-6 since then, falling to Grambling State, Vermont, Central CT State, Boston U, USF and UMass.

Matched up against UMass way back on December 20, the Big Green took a 35-28 lead into the break. Dartmouth was outscored 40-22 from there and lost 68-57. Jaren Johnson was tops with 13 points and four boards.

PICK: I’ll probably stick with Cornell here. The Big Red are looking back to form during this three-game win streak. They’ve hit 86 or more points in all three outings and should post a nice total here as well. As for Dartmouth, they’ve struggled to score lately with fewer than 60 points in five straight games. If Cornell comes out firing, I don’t see the Big Green hanging around for too long in this one.
