Harvard hit a 5-4 stretch to begin the year, losing to Iona, Siena, Rhode Island and UMass along the way. It’s been a 4-1 run since then with a loss to Brown among wins over Babson, Holy Cross, Howard and Columbia.
Back on Saturday versus Columbia, the Crimson managed a three-point edge at halftime. Harvard went on a 47-41 run from there for a 91-82 win. Noah Kirkwood led the team with 28 points, and Luka Dakota added 18 points with three rebounds.
Over on the Dartmouth side, they went 3-1 to start the year. It’s been a 1-9 run since then, though. The losses have come versus Vermont, FGCU, Quinnipiac, Boston U, Stanford, California, CSU Bakersfield, Cornell and Penn.
In the Quakers matchup Saturday, Dartmouth was up four points at halftime but lost it from there. The Green went on a 44-30 deficit in the second half for a 78-68 loss. Tops in scoring was Brendan Barry with 16 points and two rebounds.
The Big Green are 1-7 ATS in their last eight Monday games and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six at home. The over is 7-3 in Dartmouth’s last 10 overall.
Meanwhile, the Crimson are 5-1 ATS in their last six Monday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six overall. The over is 21-7-2 in Harvard’s last 30 road games.
PICK: I’m sticking with Harvard here. The Crimson have generally been a good offensive team this year in comparable matchups. They’ve hit 73 or more points in seven of their last nine outings, going 6-3 in that time. As for Dartmouth, they’ve had a few near-misses in this 1-9 run but simply haven’t been able to get over the proverbial hump. I don’t think they’ll quite get there in this game, either.
