Princeton hit a 5-3 run over their first eight games, losing to only Minnesota, Monmouth and Hofstra. Since then it’s been a nine-game win streak. In the last four Princeton has beaten Columbia, Cornell, Brown and Pennsylvania.
In the Penn matchup on Monday, the Tigers scored 34 points in the first half and 40 more afterward in a nice 74-64 win. Leading the scoring was Ethan Wright with 16 points and five rebounds. Matt Allocco added 12 points off the bench as well.
Over on the Dartmouth side, they got off to a 3-1 start this year then hit a losing streak that lasted from December 1 to January 2. The Green stopped the bleeding with a win over Brown, then lost to Pennsylvania and Harvard in the next pair.
In the Harvard game, the Green were down 39-31 by halftime. Dartmouth posted a 28-21 advantage from there but it wasn’t enough in a tough 60-59 loss. Dame Adelekun led the team with 14 points and eight rebounds. Ryan Cornish added 13 bench points.
The Green are 5-13 ATS in the last 18 after an ATS win and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss. The over is 5-2 in Dartmouth’s last seven after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games. The over is 4-1 in Princeton’s last five Saturday games.
PICK: I’m going to stay with Princeton. The Tigers have been on a great scoring run since late November. They’ve hit 72 or more points in each of their last 11 games—though there have been some very tight wins mixed in there. Still, Princeton is taking care of business and cooking in the win column right now.
As for Dartmouth, they’ve been at 68 points or below in each of their last three games. The Green can score pretty well when the matchup is right, but I don’t see them keeping in range here.
