The Saint Joseph’s Hawks will travel to John M. Belk Arena to take on the Davidson Wildcats this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The Saint Joseph’s Hawks improved to 10-11 on the season after defeating the Fordham Rams, 72-69, this past Saturday. Saint Joseph’s led by a 31-30 margin at halftime and was able to hold off Fordham for the victory after taking a 61-52 lead with 2:03 left in regulation. Saint Joseph’s shot 49.0% from the field & 32.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Fordham to shoot 41.5% from the field & 14.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Hawks was Erik Reynolds II who had 23 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, & 2 blocks.

On the season, Saint Joseph’s is averaging 70.2 ppg on 43.2% shooting from the field. The Hawks are averaging 8.9 three-pointers per game on 33.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Saint Joseph’s has been led by Jordan Hall (14.9 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 6.4 apg, 1.3 spg), Taylor Funk (14.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.0 spg), Ejike Obinna (12.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg), & Erik Reynolds II (11.0 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.9 apg).

Defensively, Saint Joseph’s is allowing their opponents to average 70.6 ppg on 43.0% shooting from the field. The Hawks have a rebound margin of 2.4 and a turnover margin of -4.0.

The Davidson Wildcats won their 3rd straight game and improved to 19-3 on the season after defeating the George Washington Colonials, 78-73, this past Saturday. Davidson trailed by a 42-34 margin at halftime, however, the Wildcats were outstanding offensively in the 2nd half and was able to pull away late after closing out the final :56 seconds of regulation on a 5-0 run. Davidson shot 56.3% from the field & 36.4% from beyond the arc while allowing George Washington to shoot 48.1% from the field & 43.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Luka Brajkovic who had 30 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, & 1 steal.

Offensively, Davidson has been led by Foster Loyer (15.7 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 3.6 apg), Hyunjung Lee (15.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.1 apg), Luka Brajkovic (15.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.0 bpg), & Michael Jones (12.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, Davidson is allowing their opponents to an average of 67.5 ppg on 42.9% shooting from the field. The Wildcats have a rebound margin of 4.5 and a turnover margin of 0.6.

The Hawks are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games & 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games. The Wildcats are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games & 3-6 ATS in their last 9 February games.

Saint Joseph’s has been able to do some damage on their home court this season, posting an 8-4 record, that success hasn’t translated on the road where the Hawks have just a 1-6 record and Saint Joseph’s overall have struggled on both ends of the court as they come into this game ranked 205th in scoring offense & 222nd in scoring defense. Davidson is arguably the best mid-major team this season as the Wildcats have been outstanding on the offensive end of the court, ranking 50th in scoring offense & 6th in FG%, and as I think the Wildcats will be able to score at will on their home court against Saint Joseph’s, I’m taking Davidson to cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
