The Coppin State Eagles and the Delaware State Hornets meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Memorial Hall Dover. Coppin State is currently 4-16 so far and coming off a loss to MD Eastern Shore. As for Delaware State, they’re 2-15 on the season. The Hornets lost to Morgan State in their last game. Coppin State won just one of their first 16 games: a November 17 matchup versus Loyola MD. It’s been a 3-2 run for the Eagles since then. The wins have come over SC State, Morgan State and Howard with losses to Norfolk State and MD Eastern Shore mixed in.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Coppin State. There’s not much to like about this matchup, but if nothing else it should be quite competitive. The Eagles have been scoring better lately; they’ve hit 74 or more points in four of their last five outings. As for Delaware State, they’ve struggled when it comes to scoring this season but did hit 70 points in their last game. I like the Hornets to finish near that total in a higher-scoring Coppin State cover.
