Drexel started off the year at 5-5, then took a postponement break from December 14 to January 3. Since then it’s been 4-5 run for the Dragons. They’ve lost to Delaware, Hofstra, William & Mary, Towson and UNC Wilmington in that time.
Matched up against UNC Wilmington on Monday, the Dragons had a 37-32 edge by halftime. Drexel faded on a 38-26 deficit from there in a 70-63 loss. Tops in scoring was Coletrane Washington with 14 points, two assists and one rebound.
Over on the Delaware side, they hit a 14-6 run in their first 20 this year with losses to Davidson, Oakland, Temple, Iona, UNC Wilmington and Hofstra. Since then it’s been a loss (and a suspended game) versus Towson and a win over James Madison.
Matched up against the Dukes on Saturday, the Hens posted 43 points in the first half and 42 more from there in an 85-69 win. Leading scorer Ebby Asamoah put up 30 points with seven boards. Jyare Davis added 22 bench points as well.
The Hens are 0-4 ATS in their last four at home and 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS Win. The over is 8-3-1 in Delaware’s last 12 Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Dragons are 5-0 ATS in the last five Thursday games and 11-1 ATS in their last 12 after an ATS loss. Drexel is 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall.
PICK: I’m staying with Delaware. The Hens have been putting up solid points totals over their last seven outings, with 77 or more in six of those. The last time these teams met up was back on January 11 in a road game for the Hens. Delaware ended up taking that one 81-77. Both teams shot over 48 percent in that one, and the Dragons held a 32-29 advantage in rebounding. This rematch should be another fun one, but I think it’s Delaware’s cover to take.
