Delaware vs Stony Brook Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/13/23

The Stony Brook Seawolves and the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens meet Monday in college basketball action from Bob Carpenter Center. Stony Brook is currently 9-17 on the year. The Seawolves beat NC A&T in their last game. As for Delaware, they’re 12-14 overall following a loss to Drexel back on Wednesday. Stony Brook Seawolves 

Stony Brook has had a rocky season thus far, and they stumbled to a 7-13 record across their first 20 outings. The Seawolves are 2-4 since then with losses to William & Mary, Elon, Hofstra and Monmouth alongside wins over Hampton and NC A&T. 

In the North Carolina A&T matchup on Saturday, the Seawolves posted a 34-31 edge by the break. Stony Brook kept it up on a 35-28 run from there and won it 69-59. Both Tyler Stephenson-Moore and Keenan Fitzmorris posted a team-high 14 points. 

Delaware Blue Hens

Over on the Delaware side, they had an up-and-down run over their first 20 games with an 11-9 record overall. The Hens are just 1-5 in their last six games though, losing to Drexel, Hampton, Monmouth, Charleston and Drexel again. 

In the Drexel rematch on Wednesday, the Hens trailed 30-24 going into the second half. Delaware hit a 30-28 advantage from there but still lost 58-54. Jameer Nelson scored 15 and Christian Ray doubled on 11 points and 10 rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll lean toward Delaware here, but I’m probably staying away. Neither of these teams has looked great lately. The Hens have hit 66 points or more in five of their last seven games, but they’re just 2-5 in that stretch. As for Stony Brook, they’ve been below 70 points for four straight games. Delaware seems the lesser of two evils at home in this one, but you could probably make a case either way. It doesn’t seem like one to mess with.
