The UNC Greensboro Spartans and the Delaware Blue Hens meet Saturday in college basketball action from Baha Mar Convention Center. The Spartans enter this matchup after a Friday win over Kansas City improved the team to 3-1 overall. As for Delaware, they’re undefeated through five games and coming off a win over Brown. Here’s our UNC Greensboro vs Delaware prediction.

UNC Greensboro Spartans 

The Spartans only have one loss on the card so far. That one came 74-70 versus Vanderbilt in game two. UNC Greensboro’s lone defeat was surrounded by wins over North Carolina A&T and Arkansas otherwise. In the win over the Razorbacks, the Spartans shot a nice 48.1 percent from the field with a 32-30 rebounding edge. 

On Friday versus Kansas City, the Spartans kept it going with another victory. UNC Greensboro was up 41-30 by the break and cruised to the win 76-64. Leading the team in scoring was Donovan Atwell with 26 points and two boards. Mikeal Brown-Jones added 22 points with seven boards.

Delaware Blue Hens 

Over on the Blue Hens’ side, they’ve been playing quite well so far and have scored 78 or more points in three of their five games. Delaware took out Bucknell, Goldy-Beacom, Air Force and Delaware State in their first quartet. The Blue Hens posted 54.0 percent from the field and 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from 3-point range in their win over the Hornets. 

Delaware kept things rolling with a victory over Brown on Friday. The Hens were down 31-30 going into the second half, scoring 37 points from there in a 67-59 comeback result. Tops in points was Jyare Davis with 16 points and seven rebounds with four assists. 

ANDREW’S FREE DELAWARE VS UNC GREENSBORO PREDICTION 

I’m likely going to stay with UNC Greensboro. The Spartans didn’t have too many issues on Friday versus Kansas City, holding the Roos to just 35.8 percent from the field. UNC Greensboro shot a nice 50 percent from the floor themselves, but did get out-rebounded 34-32 in the win. Still, the Spartans have scored 70 or more points in all four games thus far and should have another nice scoreboard outing here. 

As for the Hens, they had a bit of trouble shaking Brown after the first half but everything worked out well. Delaware shot just 40.3 percent from the field and hit 4-of-18 (22.2 percent) from 3-point range however, so they’re going to have to sharpen up the shooting in this one. I don’t think the Hens will quite get there cover-wise.
