Detroit vs Wright State Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/25/23

The Wright State Raiders and the Detroit Mercy Titans meet Saturday in college basketball action from Calihan Hall. Wright State played Oakland in their most recent game on Thursday. In that one the Raiders fell by seven points. As for Detroit, they’re fresh off a Thursday game versus Northern Kentucky. The Titans ended up losing a close game there. Wright State Raiders 

Wright State managed a 12-10 record over their first 22 games this season. The Raiders went 4-3 in the next seven with wins over Green Bay, Robert Morris, IUPUI and Northern Kentucky alongside losses to Youngstown State, Cleveland State and Fort Wayne. 

In the Oakland game on Thursday, Wright State held a 32-30 edge in the locker room. The Raiders were outscored 45-36 from there however and lost 75-68. Brandon Noel led the team with 24 points and 10 rebounds. 

Detroit Mercy Titans 

Over on the Detroit side, their start wasn’t as great on an 8-14 run through 22 outings. The Titans would then go an improved 5-2 across the next seven, with wins over Cleveland State, Fort Wayne, Green Bay, Oakland and IUPUI. 

Matched up against Northern Kentucky in the Thursday game, the Titans were down 37-23 going into the second half but made a game of it. Detroit scored 41 points from there in a 67-64 loss. Antoine Davis was tops on 27 points and five assists. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll take a stab on Detroit here. You could probably make a case either way, though. The Titans had a sketchy outing against Northern Kentucky on Thursday. That loss put an end to a three-game losing streak in which the Titans had hit 76 or more points during each outing. These teams last played back on January 6 at Nutter Center. The Titans had a 48-40 halftime advantage in that one, but Wright State eventually pulled off the 90-85 win. I like Detroit to defend home court and bag a cover in this one.
