The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Duke Blue Devils meet in college basketball action from Cameron Indoor Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Ohio State Buckeyes will be looking to build on their 80-73 win over Texas Tech in their last outing. Brice Sensabaugh leads the Buckeyes in scoring with 15.8 PPG along with 4 RPG while Zed Key is leading the Buckeyes in rebounding with 14.5 PPG along with a team-high 8.5 RPG. Justice Sueing has 14.5 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Ohio State up to this point while Isaac Likekele has a team-high 3.5 APG this season. As a team, Ohio State is averaging 79.3 PPG on 48.1% shooting from the field, 34.1% from three and 80.6% from the foul line this season.
The Duke Blue Devils will try to bounce back after a 75-56 loss to Purdue in their last game. Kyle Filipowski leads Duke in scoring and rebounding with 15.4 PPG and 9.4 RPG while Jeremy Roach has 12.9 PPG with a team-high 3.6 APG to lead the Blue Devils in the assist department up to this point in the year as Duke’s only other double-digit scorer coming into this game. Ohio State is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS win and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games while the over is 26-11-1 in their last 38 games following an ATS win. Duke is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall.
I get the case to be made for either side in this game, but I’m still a little bit hesitant to jump back on the Blue Devils as that narrow loss to Oregon State is still in my mind. This Blue Devils team is very young and very green and I think there’s going to be some growing pains for Duke as they get experience on the fly and it doesn’t help that it’s under a brand new coaching staff. I think this is one of those games where Duke potentially wins, but Ohio State covers.
