The Pittsburgh Panthers and the Duke Blue Devils meet Saturday in college basketball action from Cameron Indoor Stadium. Pittsburgh is currently 10-7 after a loss to Syracuse on Tuesday. As for Duke, they’re riding an eight-game win streak at 13-3 after a win over Georgia Tech in their last outing. Let’s get into our Pittsburgh vs. Duke prediction. Pittsburgh Panthers

The Panthers posted a 5-3 run over their first eight games this year, failing to Florida, Missouri and Clemson along the way. Pittsburgh has since gone 5-4 with wins over West Virginia, Canisius, South Carolina State, Fort Wayne and Louisville among losses to Syracuse, North Carolina, Duke and Syracuse again.

In the rematch with the Orange back on Tuesday, the Panthers were facing a 37-26 deficit at the break. Pittsburgh kept the pace from there but ended up losing 69-58 in the end. Leading team scorer Jeland Lowe put up 20 points with three rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Duke Blue Devils

Over on the Blue Devils’ side, they also started out the year on a 5-3 clip with losses to Arizona, Arkansas and Georgia Tech. Duke has since beaten Charlotte, Hofstra, Baylor, Queens, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech in succession over the last eight.

In the Georgia Tech matchup on Saturday, the Blue Devils were all tied up at 39-39 going into the second half. Duke hit a 45-40 run from there and took the victory 84-79. Kyle Filipowski was the team’s top performer on 30 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks.

ANDREW’S FREE PITTSBURGH VS DUKE PREDICTION

I’ll stay with Duke. The Blue Devils are playing quite well these days, though it did take them a little while to put away a scrappy Georgia Tech team in their last outing. Duke gave up 54.5 percent shooting from the field in that one and got out-rebounded 34-32 but did score 15 points off 14 Yellow Jackets turnovers. Duke has now scored 75 or more points in seven of the last eight games.

These teams last met up on January 9 in a 75-53 win for the Blue Devils. Duke shot a nice 51.8 percent from the field in that one, and Pittsburgh hit just 32.8 percent. The Blue Devils hit a 42-26 rebounding advantage in a nice performance on the boards as well. This one may not quite be such a blowout, but I still like Duke on the cover.
