The William & Mary Tribe will travel to the Schar Center to take on the Elon Phoenix this Thursday night in College Basketball action.

The William & Mary Tribe dropped to 4-16 on the season after being defeated by the Charleston Cougars, 74-73, this past Tuesday. William & Mary fought back from a 63-48 deficit with just 9:13 left in regulation to tie the game at 69-all, however, the Cougars were able to pull out the victory after John Meeks hit a game-winning jumper for Charleston with just 1.1 seconds left in regulation. William & Mary shot 38.9% from the field & 28.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Charleston to shoot 36.6% from the field & 34.6% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Tribe was Brandon Carroll who had 16 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 5 blocks, & 6 steals.

On the season, William & Mary is averaging 66.1 ppg on 41.4% shooting from the field. The Tribe are averaging 7.2 three-pointers per game on 31.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, William & Mary has been led by Connor Kochera (11.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.3 spg), Ben Wight (11.8 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg), Yuri Covington (8.5 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.1 spg), & Julian Lewis (7.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.5 apg).

Defensviely, William & Mary is allowing their opponents to average 75.0 ppg on 46.1% shooting from the field. The Tribe have a rebound margin of -0.2 and a turnover margin of -3.5.

The Elon Phoenix lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 5-15 on the season after being defeated by the Delaware Blue Hens, 80-77, this past Saturday. Elon struggled defensively against Delaware and could not fight back after going into halftime trailing by a 44-32 margin. Elon shot 48.3% from the field & 38.1% from beyond the arc while allowing Delaware to shoot 52.1% from the field & 38.9% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Phoenix was Torrence Watson who had 20 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, & 3 steals.

On the season, Elon is averaging 68.5 ppg on 42.9% shooting from the field. The Phoenix are averaging 9.5 three-pointers per game on 36.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Elon has been led by Darius Burford (12.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.7 spg), Hunter McIntosh (11.6 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 3.1 apg), Michael Graham (9.2 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.1 bpg), & Torrence Watson (8.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.5 apg).

Defensively, Elon is allowing their opponents to average 74.3 ppg on 44.0% shooting from beyond the arc. The Phoenix have a rebound margin of -4.2 and a turnover margin of -1.6.

The Tribe are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games, however, are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games vs. Elon. The Phoenix are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games as a favorite, however, are just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games.

William & Mary has struggled on both ends of the court this season as the Tribe come into this game ranked just 300th in scoring offense, t-305th in scoring defense, & 323rd in defensive FG%. Elon has been good from beyond the arc, ranking 30th in three-pointers made per game & 70th in 3P-FG%, however, the Phoenix have overall struggled this season and come into this matchup ranked just 252nd in scoring offense & 297th in scoring defense.

William & Mary has been playing better basketball as of late, however, this is still a team that is just 1-8 on the road this season which includes 6 of those losses coming by double-digits. Elon has been inconsistent this season, however, the Phoenix have been solid at home which included a recent 90-67 win against James Madison and as I think the Phoenix will be able to have plenty of success from beyond the arc in this one, I think Elon does enough to cover this double-digit spread. Good Luck!
