The Bradley Braves and the Evansville Aces meet in college basketball action from the Ford Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Bradley Braves will try to rebound from a 78-65 loss to Northern Iowa that snapped a four-game winning streak. Terry Roberts leads the Braves in scoring and assists with 15.8 PPG and 4.5 APG while Ja’Shon Henry has 10.4 PPG with 5 RPG and Malevy Leons has 10.1 PPG with 6.1 RPG this season. Rienk Mast also leads the Braves in rebounding with 11.7 PPG along with 8.3 RPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Bradley so far this season. As a team, Bradley is averaging 71.7 PPG on 45% shooting from the field, 34.1% from three and 67.1% from the foul line while allowing 66.4 PPG on 39.9% shooting from the field and 31.9% from three this season.
The Evansville Aces will try to bounce back from back-to-back losses after a 72-58 loss to Missouri State last time out. Shamar Givance leads the Aces in scoring and assists with 13.9 PPG and 3.7 APG while Jawaun Newton has 13.8 PPG with a team-high 5.8 RPG to lead the Aces on the glass and to make up the other half of the pair of double-digit scorers for Evansville up to this point in the season. As a team, Evansville is averaging 59.3 PPG on 39.6% shooting from the field, 31.7% from three and 71.2% from the foul line while allowing 68.6 PPG on 48.4% shooting from the field and 39.8% from three this season.
Bradley is 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a loss. Evansville is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 home games.
I get why the points with a home dog are worth looking at in certain spots, but the Evansville Aces just aren’t a team I’m looking to back in any circumstance right now as they’re just not a good basketball team. Bradley isn’t a world-beater by any means, but they’re the better team in this spot and have done a good job against teams with losing records. Either way, It’s laying the points with Bradley or pass for me in this game.
