The Indiana State Sycamores and the Evansville Aces meet Thursday in college basketball action from Ford Center. This will be the second installment of a home-and-home pair between these teams this week. In Tuesday’s matchup, the Aces took a nine-point win. Indiana State began the year on an 8-6 clip, but things haven’t gone well since then. The Sycamores hit a 1-7 stretch in the next eight with losses to Northern Iowa, Loyola, Southern Illinois, Valparaiso, Bradley, Drake and Valparaiso again.

On Tuesday versus the Aces, Indiana State had a rough time of things with just 23 points in the first half. The Sycamores scored 33 from there but still lost 65-56. Tops in scoring was Cameron Henry with 15 points, three rebounds and one assist.

Over on the Evansville side, they’ve struggled this season as well. The Aces entered Tuesday’s matchup on a 1-9 skid. The losses were to SEMO, Northern Iowa, Drake, Bradley, Loyola, Illinois State, Northern Iowa, Missouri State and Bradley in that stretch.

Matched up against Indiana State on Tuesday, Evansville jumped out to a 33-23 lead by halftime and hung on for the nine-point win with 32 second-half points. Shamar Givance led the way with 19 points, and Antoine Smith added 10 points as well.

The Aces are 4-1 ATS in the last five overall and the under is 4-1 in their last five overall. The under is 5-1 in Evansville’s last six at home.

Meanwhile, the Sycamores are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four overall. Indiana State is 4-1 ATS in their last five Thursday games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Evansville. The stage is set for the Aces to bag another win here. Evansville had a nice first half in the Tuesday matchup and will come into this one with plenty of confidence. The Aces shot 50 percent from the floor in the last game, bagging 25 rebounds and 10 steals along the way.

It’s going to take another high-percentage shooting performance from Evansville here, but if they can stay efficient on offense I think they’ll generate enough points to cover.
