The Quinnipiac Bobcats and the Fairfield Stags meet in college basketball MAAC-tion from the Webster Bank Arena on Wednesday night.

The Quinnipiac Bobcats come into this one looking to snap a three-game losing skid after a 76-63 loss to Monmouth last time out. Matt Balanc has a team-high 14.5 PPG while Kevin Marfo has 10.5 PPG with a team-high 10.7 RPG to lead the Bobcats on the glass, averaging a double-double per game to make up the duo of double-digit scorers for Quinnipiac so far this season. Dezi Jones has 9.7 PPG while Marfo also has a team-high 4 APG for the Bobcats this year. As a team, Quinnipiac is averaging 73.7 PPG on 44.1% shooting from the field, 34.7% from three and 74.5% from the foul line while allowing 72.1 PPG on 43.2% shooting from the field and 35.4% from three this season.

The Fairfield Stags will attempt to bounce back from back-to-back losses after a 62-56 loss to Siena last time out. Taj Benning leads the Stags in scoring with 11.4 PPG along with 4.7 RPG and Jake Wojcik also has 11.2 PPG with 3.9 RPG while Supreme Cook has 10.2 PPG with a team-high 7.9 RPG this season, rounding out the group of double-digit scorers for Fairfield so far this season. Caleb Green also has 7.4 PPG and a team-high 2.8 APG as well this season. As a team, Fairfield is averaging 69.8 PPG on 44.7% shooting from the field, 33.9% from three and 70.5% from the foul line while allowing 66.1 PPG on 42.8% shooting from the field and 32% from three this season.

Quinnipiac is 3-13 ATS in their last 16 road games against a team with a home winning percentage below .400 and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 games as a road underdog. Fairfield is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Wednesday games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games as a home favorite while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 home games.

I get the case to be made both ways here, but ultimately, I’m looking at the total, scratching my head because I have no clue how we get to a total near the 140s. I know Quinnipiac’s been involved in some high-scoring games as of late, but they’re still shooting just 41.7% from the field on the road and Fairfield is allowing just 65.9 PPG at home and scoring just under 70. I think this is a first to 70 wins gave if we even get that high as I envision this one middling around the mid-60s, so give me the under here.
