The Fairleigh Dickinson Knights punched their ticket to the second round with arguably the biggest upset in the NCAA Tournament, taking out the top-seeded Purdue Boilermakers by a final score of 63-58 in the first round. Sean Moore led the way with 19 points on 7 of 17 shooting with 3 threes with 5 rebounds and a pair of blocks while Demetre Roberts had 12 points with 4 assists. Cameron Tweedy had 10 points on 5 of 6 shooting with a team-high 6 rebounds to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Fairleigh Dickinson in the win. Grant Singleton also had 8 points with team-highs of 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in the winning effort.
FAU Owls Team Recap
The FAU Owls booked their spot in the second round with a 66-65 win over Memphis in the first round last time out. Giancarlo Rosado had a team-high 15 points while Johneil Davis had 12 points with 5 rebounds. Alijah Martin and Bryan Greenlee each had 10 points to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for FAU in the win. Jalen Gaffney also had 5 rebounds while Vladislav Goldin added 8 points with a team-high 7 rebounds and Nicholas Boyd had a team-high 4 assists in the winning effort.
Fairleigh Dickinson is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 Sunday games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. I’m sticking with the under here. I just don’t see the Knights doing a whole ton of scoring in this matchup either and while FAU is fully capable of dropping 80+ on anyone, we saw the Owls implement a more defensive style against Memphis and I think we could see more of the same here.
