The Texas A&M Aggies and the Florida Atlantic Owls meet Friday in college basketball action from HP Field House. The Aggies improved to 5-0 on the season with a 12-point win over Penn State in their Thursday matchup. As for FAU, they got past Butler in their last game, taking a five-point win to move to 3-1 overall. Check out our Florida Atlantic vs Texas A&M Prediction.

Texas A&M Aggies

The Aggies have had a couple of reasonably close games so far this year, but overall there’s not anything to complain about record-wise. Texas A&M took out Texas A&M-Commerce 78-46, Ohio State 73-66, SMU 79-66 and Oral Roberts 74-66 in their first four outings of the year. In the win over the Golden Eagles, the Aggies shot just 9.1 percent from outside (2-of-22) but made up for it with 53 rebounds.

In their Thanksgiving matchup versus Penn State, the Aggies were up by seven at the break. Texas A&M bagged 50 more points from there in a strong 89-77 win. Henry Coleman led the charge on 24 points and six rebounds, while Wade Taylor added 23 points with six boards. Tyrece Radford chipped in 14 points with six rebounds as well.

FAU Owls

Over on the Florida Atlantic side, they’ve scored very well so far—in their three wins at least. The Owls took out Loyola IL 75-62 in their opener, then got by Eastern Michigan 100-57 before a demoralizing 61-52 defeat at the hands of Bryant. Florida Atlantic shot just 26.2 percent from the field and 16.7 percent (5-of-30) from 3-point range in that loss.

In Thursday’s game against Butler, the Owls got back to business with a solid victory. After a 46-42 edge in the first half, Floria Atlantic held on for a 91-86 win. Leading the way was Vladslav Golden with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Johnell Davis managed 15 points and nine boards, while Alijah Martin put up 13 points.

ANDREW’S FREE TEXAS A&M VS FAU PREDICTION

I’ll probably just stick with Texas A&M. The Aggies were a little permissive on defense at times in their win over Penn State on Thursday, giving up 52.8 percent shooting from the field. That said, Texas A&M posted another strong effort on the boards (a 33-20 advantage) and shot 59.6 percent from the field themselves. The 3-point shooting was reasonable but not great (35.7 percent), as was the foul shooting (76.2 percent). Still, the Aggies have now scored 73 or more points in every game so far. That’s a great sign for the offense.

As for Florida Atlantic, they put up a pretty good effort versus Butler on Thursday, hitting 52.4 percent from the field with a 37-31 rebounding advantage (15-10 offensive). I like the Owls to keep it going in Friday’s matchup, so we could have a high-scoring total here.
