Florida State vs Louisville 12/10/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Louisville Cardinals and the Florida State Seminoles meet Saturday in college basketball action from Donald L. Tucker Center. Louisville is a rough 0-8 so far and fresh off a loss to Miami-FL. Louisville has had zero luck in the win column so far this year. The losses have come versus Bellarmine, Wright State, App State, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Cincinnati, Maryland and Miami-FL in succession. 

On Sunday versus the Hurricanes, the Cardinals trailed 42-23 by halftime. Louisville was outscored 38-30 the rest of the way during an 80-53 loss. Tops in scoring was Jae’Lyn Withers with 12 points and six boards.

Over on the Florida State side, their lone win came versus Mercer on November 21. Otherwise it’s been losses to Stetson, UCF, Troy, Florida, Siena, Stanford, Nebraska, Purdue and Virginia this season so far. 

Back on Saturday in the Virginia game, Florida State had a 22-21 lead going into the locker room. The Seminoles posted a 41-35 deficit from there in a 62-57 loss. Darin Green was the team’s leading scorer on 17 points and four boards. 

PICK: I’ll probably stay with Florida State. Also probably not touching this one; there’s not a whole lot to like here in a matchup between two teams that are a combined 1-17. That said, it should be a competitive game. Florida State looked pretty good against Virginia in the first half of their last appearance. The Seminoles ended up shooting 32.8 percent from the floor with a 40-38 rebounding advantage (16-12 offensive). As for Louisville, they’ve been competitive in a few games but lately against bigger schools every outing has been a blowout. I do like the Cardinals to hang around for a while here, though.
