The Virginia Cavaliers and the Florida State Seminoles meet in college basketball action from the Donald L. Tucker Center on Saturday.

The Virginia Cavaliers will look to build on a 65-58 win over North Carolina in their last matchup. Armaan Franklin leads the Cavaliers in scoring with 11.4 PPG along with 4.1 RPG while Kihei Clark has 11.1 PPG with a team-high 6 APG to lead the Cavaliers in assists so far this season. Jayden Gardner has 10.7 PPG with a team-high 5 RPG to lead Virginia on the glass while Reese Beekman has 10 PPG, 3.4 RPG and 5 APG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Virginia so far this season. As a team, Virginia is averaging 69.7 PPG on 45.8% shooting from the field, 37.6% from three and 69.9% from the foul line this season.

The Florida State Seminoles will try to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last six games following a 90-75 loss to Wake Forest last time out. Matthew Cleveland leads FSU in scoring and rebounding with 14.7 PPG and 7.5 RPG while Darin Green Jr. has 14 PPG and Caleb Mills has 13.3 PPG with 3.5 APG this season. Cam’Ron Fletcher has 10.8 PPG with a team-high 7.5 RPG to lead the Seminoles on the glass and to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Florida State so far this season. Jalen Warley also has a team-high 3.9 APG to lead Florida State in assists this season. As a team, Florida State is averaging 69.4 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field, 34.8% from three and 73.1% from the foul line this season.

Virginia is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 13-3-1 in their last 17 road games. Florida State is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall.

I get the case to be made for either side in this game, but I’m backing the under here. AS much as I like Virginia, this is still a defense first Virginia team and I think FSU will struggle to hit 60 points in this game, but on the other side I’m not sure how much I trust Virginia’s offense to make an impact here. All in all, I think this ends up as a lower-scoring game, so give me the under here.
