The Georgia Bulldogs and the Florida Gators meet Tuesday in college basketball action from O’Connell Center in Gainesville. Here’s a Florida vs Georgia prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Florida vs Georgia pick.
Georgia Bulldogs Betting Preview
The Bulldogs kicked off the season with wins over Bellarmine, Maryland Eastern Shore, Morehead State, Georgia Tech, Florida A&M and Xavier. After a loss to Clemson, Georgia got it going again with wins over Tennessee Tech, Florida State, Cincinnati, Western Carolina, West Georgia and Long Island U. That would give the Bulldogs a 12-1 opening run through the first 13 games.
On Saturday versus Auburn, the Bulldogs were up 47-42 going into the second half but ended needing overtime to finish off a tight 104-100 win in the end. Georgia’s leading scorer was Jeremiah Wilkinson with 31 points and six boards while Marcus Millender had 24 points. Both Blue Cain and Somto Cyril had 15 points apiece, combining for 10 rebounds along the way.
Florida Gators Betting Preview
Over on the Florida side, they were able to win four of their first five games this year, taking out North Florida, Florida State, Miami and Merrimack. After a 1-3 run that featured losses to TCU, Duke and UConn, the Gators hit another win streak and took out George Washington, Saint Francis, Colgate and Dartmouth over the next quartet of outings. In their first 13 games the Gators managed a 9-4 overall record.
Matched up against Missouri on Saturday the Gators went into the break with a 39-39 tie. Florida was outscored in the second half 37-35 and finished off a 76-74 loss. Florida vs Georgia Prediction
I’ll take a stab on Florida here. The Gators are coming off a tough loss to a difficult Missouri team though, so they’ll need a good bounce-back. Florida shot 41.3 percent from the field in that one with 25.9 percent (7-of-27) from outside and a 33-31 edge on the boards. Florida gave up 45.5 percent shooting on the other side during the two-point defeat. It was Florida’s first loss after four straight wins in which they’d scored 80 or more points over every game.
As for Georgia, they were able to fend off a pesky Auburn squad for an OT win this past week. The Bulldogs shot 52.3 percent from the field with 40 points in the paint but got blasted on the boards 46-28 along the way. Georgia’s winning streak now sits at seven games and they’ve put up 84 or more points in each of those victories. This one should be a high total as well if both teams stay on point.
