In this article we will formulate a Florida vs North Florida prediction for this College Basketball game on Thursday, November 6th at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this College Basketball matchup.

Florida Gators Betting Preview

The Florida Gators are 0-1 this season after they lost to Arizona by a score of 93-87 in their first game. Florida trailed 50-46 at halftime and they allowed 43 more points in the second half for the tough loss. The Gators shot 42.9% from the field, 25.9% on three pointers, and 66.7% on free throws in the game. Florida lost the rebounding battle by a total of 41-39, recorded 15 assists, and committed 15 turnovers in the loss. Thomas Haugh led the Gators with 27 points and four rebounds, while Xaivian Lee added 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists in the game.

This was never going to be an easy game for Florida, as they started the year against a very good team and had a long road trip, but they had plenty of chances to win. The Gators missed 10 free throws, allowed Arizona to shoot over 49% from the field, and allowed 38 free throw attempts in the loss.

North Florida Ospreys Betting Preview

The North Florida Ospreys went 15-17 (8-10) last year and they finished 7th in the A-Sun standings. North Florida started the year with a 74-71 win over South Carolina and followed that up with a 90-66 win over Charleston Southern. The Ospreys started the season with a 7-4 record through 11 games, but really struggled with the middle of their schedule. North Florida finished the regular season by losing five of their last seven games, before losing to Austin Peay by a score of 90-69 in the A-Sun Tournament. North Florida scored 82.8 points per game, which ranked 15th in the country, while they allowed 84.8 points against per game, which ranked 364th.

This season, North Florida has to replace their top five scorers from last year, which accounted for roughly 55 points and 24 rebounds per game. The Ospreys do return Kamrin Oriol, who averaged 7.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, and Nestor Dyachok, who averaged 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.

Florida vs North Florida Prediction

Florida comes into this matchup looking to bounce back after that tough loss to Arizona earlier in the week and they will be at home here. The Gators were very good offensively, but the defense was not good at all. North Florida has a ton of production to replace from last season and will have to figure out how to slow down the Gators offense, which won’t be easy. I think Florida has a huge advantage of already playing a game, as North Florida is still figuring out their rotations. Give me the Gators to win and cover this massive number.
