The Utah State Aggies and the Fresno State Bulldogs meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Save Mart Center. Utah State is currently 22-5 overall following a win over San Diego State last Tuesday. As for Fresno State, they’re 11-16 and coming off a loss to San Diego State over the weekend. Utah State Aggies
The Aggies only lost two of their first 21 games this year. Those defeats came courtesy of Bradley and New Mexico. Since then Utah State is 3-3 with losses to San Diego State, Nevada and Colorado State alongside wins over Boise State, Wyoming and San Diego State.
In the rematch with San Diego State last Tuesday, the Aggies were up 31-26 by halftime. Utah State kept the pace from there on a 37-37 run and took the victory 68-63. Leading team scorer Darius Brown posted 25 points with four rebounds and two assists in 39 minutes of action.
Fresno State Bulldogs
Over on the Fresno State side, they hovered around the .500 mark for much of the year and were 9-11 through their first 20 games. The Bulldogs have since gone just 2-5 however, falling to UNLV, Colorado State, UNLV again, Boise State and San Diego State with wins over San Jose State and Air Force otherwise.
On Saturday versus San Diego State, Fresno State didn’t stand much of a chance. The Bulldogs came out of the break facing a 42-16 gap. Fresno State limped to a 73-41 blowout loss with a 31-25 run from there. Isaiah Hill was the top scorer with 12 points and three rebounds in the defeat.
ANDREW’S FREE UTAH STATE VS FRESNO STATE PREDICTION
I’ll stay with Utah State. The Aggies played fairly well in their latest matchup versus a great San Diego State team, shooting 49 percent from the field with 31 rebounds and 16 team assists. It was a nice bounce-back effort after posting just 55 points in the loss to Colorado State the weekend before.
These teams met up back on January 20 in a home win for the Aggies 83-62. Utah State shot 55 percent from the field in that one with a 40-25 rebounding edge and was in control from the start. This road rematch may be a little different on the scoreboard but I still like Utah State to pull off the cover as the better team.
