Fresno State vs Wyoming 12/28/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Wyoming Cowboys and the Fresno State Bulldogs meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Save Mart Center. Wyoming is 5-7 on the year so far. Wyoming’s losses have come to SE Louisiana, Drake, Boston College, Santa Clara, Grand Canyon, Dayton and Saint Mary’s. The wins otherwise have come versus CO Christian, Nicholls State, Howard, Texas A&M-Commerce and LA Tech. 

Matched up against Saint Mary’s on Wednesday, the Cowboys were down 34-24 going into the second half. Wyoming scored another 30 points in an eventual 66-54 loss. Noah Reynolds paced the team on 21 points in 34 minutes.

Over on the Fresno State side, they’ve lost to UCSB, San Francisco, North Texas, Washington, Vanderbilt, Pacific and Sacramento State this year. Their victories have been over Fresno Pacific, UC Irvine, CSU Northridge and CSU Bakersfield. 

Fresno State went into halftime tied up at 27-27 in the CSU Bakersfield game last Tuesday. The Bulldogs hit a 29-21 second-half run and won it 56-48. Isaiah Hill managed 17 points with eight assists, and Anthony Holland added 12 points. 

PICK: I might take a stab on Fresno State here. Granted, there’s not a lot to get excited about in this matchup. That said, it should also be a pretty competitive game. The Bulldogs are playing better lately; they’re 3-2 in the last five games with 65 or more points scored in three of those. Fresno State has just 109 combined points over their last pair of outings however, so they’re going to need to step on the gas offensively. Wyoming is in something of the same boat, with just 103 combined points over their last pair. I like both teams to take a step forward on the scoreboard in this one, with Fresno State eking out a cover.
